Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar & More Unite to Support Punjab Flood Victims
Punjab is battling a severe flood crisis after heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir caused the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers to overflow. The floods have impacted over 1,000 villages and damaged more than 61,000 hectares of farmland. Districts including Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar are among the worst affected.
Many celebrities have come forward to express solidarity and offer help. Actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share his concern, writing, “Scrolling seeing all that’s happening in Punjab and other regions in the north… villages flooded, people suffering. Praying for all those who are affected. Rabb meher bakshe.” He also saluted volunteers helping on ground, calling them “Rabb de bande” and stressing the need for long-term support.

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar also sent her prayers to those struggling in the floods. Sharing a post on Instagram stories, she wrote, “Praying for everyone in all the flood-hit areas,” adding her voice to the growing call for unity and compassion.

Punjabi icon Diljit Dosanjh is monitoring the situation in Majha and has tasked his team with preparing a long-term rehabilitation plan. Singer-actor Gippy Grewal has already dispatched truckloads of silage to feed cattle, a crucial yet often overlooked need during such disasters. Rapper and singer Karan Aujla has donated a motorboat to an NGO in Ludhiana to assist with rescue operations. “Real recovery begins after the waters recede,” he noted, stressing the importance of continuous support.
Actor Sonu Sood, known for his humanitarian work, shared a heartfelt video addressing the situation in areas like Ferozepur and Tarn Taran. “Punjab is my soul. Even if it takes everything, I will not back down. We are Punjabis—we do not give up,” he said. His sister Malvika Sood has been distributing relief material, while his foundation launched a dedicated helpline (+91 7888675107) for flood victims.
