Bhojpuri Actor Pawan Singh Under Fire for Touching Co-star Anjali Raghav Inappropriately on Stage

Bhojpuri actor-singer Pawan Singh has been under scrutiny after a video from an event surfaced on social media, where he is seen touching co-star Anjali Raghav’s waist. In the clip, he is seen placing his hand on her waist, which has triggered fans on social media and brought him intense criticism.

The incident took place during the Saiya Seva Kare song launch event. Social media users have also pointed out that Anjali seems uncomfortable when Pawan places his hand on her waist. The actor also stated that he was trying to remove something that was stuck on the waist. He was also heard asking Anjali to remain still while noting that he saw an insect.

The video is currently being circulated online, with many opining that Singh’s actions seem inappropriate. However, many are also of the opinion that his actions are being misconstrued. Some social media users have called him “unprofessional” due to his behaviour on stage. One person wrote, “Indian men don’t know the concept of Consent. And it gets even worse in UP-Bihar. This is so-called Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh. Imagine what his fans will be learning from him.” Another user said, “When public figures like Pawan Singh normalise misogyny, it trickles down to their audience. This isn’t entertainment, it’s the glorification of rape culture. Consent is non-negotiable, and India desperately needs to learn that.”

Netizens have also called him out for his misogynistic behaviour. However, neither Singh nor Anjali have shared their official statements on the matter yet. The other stars and officials at the song launch event have also not spoken about it or addressed it on social media.
