War 2 Slows Down at The Box Office After Its Massive Opening

The Hindi version of the film remains the strongest contributor, with collections of Rs 29 crore, Rs 44.50 crore, and Rs 26 crore on the first three days. The Telugu dubbed version benefited from Jr NTR’s presence, drawing Rs 22.75 crore on Thursday but declining to Rs 12.50 crore on Friday and Rs 6.95 crore on Saturday. The Tamil version has been modest at best, staying under the one crore mark each day. The exact breakdown of Sunday’s collections across languages has not yet been disclosed.
Despite the slowdown, War 2 has already crossed the Rs 150 crore milestone at the domestic box office. In the process, it has surpassed the lifetime collections of Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par, which had earned Rs 166.58 crore before releasing on pay-per-view earlier this month. However, sustaining strong weekday numbers will be crucial to determine how far War 2 can go after its initial rush.

The next benchmarks for War 2 are some of the biggest hits of the year. These include Ashwin Kumar’s animated mythological drama Mahavatar Narshimha at Rs 201.79 crore, Akshay Kumar’s comedy Housefull 5 at Rs 198.41 crore, and Ajay Devgn’s crime thriller Raid 2 with Rs 179.30 crore. Whether War 2 can cross these figures will depend on its weekday hold after the weekend slide.
