Director Prosit Roy described the project as immersive and boundary-pushing. “Raakh is exactly that,  a deeply immersive world that pushes boundaries while exploring the complex layers of human nature,” he said. Praising the writing team and the cast, he added, “Ali, Sonali and Aamir have brought unprecedented depth to their characters. I’m excited to bring this powerful and thought-provoking story to global audiences.”

Described as more than just a conventional thriller, Raakh aims to blend suspense with emotional storytelling. “At the surface Raakh is a thriller replete with unexpected turns and high stakes drama. However, at the core this is a highly emotional story that will stay with audiences long after they have finished watching it,” said Nikhil Madhok, director and head of Originals, Prime Video, India. He added that with the ensemble cast and creative team, the series is expected to be a “bold, genre-defining addition” to their slate.

Rishi Negi, group chief operating officer, Banijay Asia & EndemolShine India, noted that the show is designed as a layered narrative exploring morality, justice and consequence. “With Raakh, we set out to create more than just a gripping crime thriller — it’s a layered, character-driven story that challenges the boundaries of morality, justice, and consequence,” he said. He added that the collaboration with the creative team and cast “reflects the evolving appetite of Indian and global audiences for narratives that are both emotionally complex and genre-forward.”
