Harry Potter Full Cast Audiobook to Star Hugh Laurie, Matthew Macfadyen; Trailer Revealed
A lavish audio production of the Harry Potter novels has revealed its core cast, release date and trailer.
Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions transforms J.K. Rowling’s seven classic novels into immersive productions in Dolby Atmos, complete with an all-star voice cast, original music and real-world sound effects. It marks the first major update to the Harry Potter audiobook library in more than 25 years.
The cast will star Hugh Laurie (House) as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen (Succession) as Lord Voldemort, Riz Ahmed (The Night Of) as Professor Snape and Michelle Gomez (The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Professor McGonagall. Cush Jumbo (The Good Wife) will be the narrator. The production has a total of more than 200 speaking roles.

Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton will play Harry, Weasley and Hermione in the first three audiobooks, with Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis taking on the roles starting with Goblet of Fire. More castmembers will be announced at a later date.
The first adaptation in the series, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, will debut Nov. 4 on Audible.
The remaining six English-language audiobooks will be released monthly. Production is nearly wrapped with over 2,000 recording hours logged to date to create these unabridged adaptations. The productions will complement — not replace — the English language recordings by Dale and Stephen, which were first released in 1999.
