Exclusive: Triptii Dimri on Intimate Scenes in Animal and What Makes Dhadak 2 Special

Triptii Dimri, who became a household name after her small yet memorable role in Animal, recently spoke to Filmfare about shooting the much talked about intimate scenes in the song Pehle Bhi Main with Ranbir Kapoor. In a candid chat with Jitesh Pillai on In The Ring with Filmfare, she recalled how her parents and friends reacted after watching the film.

Triptii shared with a laugh, “My friends, I think they were… they didn’t have much to say, they were okay, young generation and all. Mom and Dad of course had a problem. And they were like, ‘How did you ask us to watch that film? You said go and watch the film.’”

Talking about how much of those scenes made it to the final cut, Triptii revealed, “They didn’t edit anything. They have kept everything. I think I shot for 5-6 days and everything is there. For one scene I have taken one whole day, what more?”

Despite the bold scenes, Animal brought Triptii a lot of attention, and audiences praised her screen presence. The buzz around her role helped push her into the spotlight, and she has never looked back since.

Her recently released film Dhadak 2, with Siddhant Chaturvedi, has also released to positive reviews. Critics appreciated both actors for their natural performances, and the film touched on important social themes, which added more to the story.

In another recent interview, Triptii also opened up about taking up the role of Vidhi in Dhadak 2 and feeling empowered. She said, “For me, she is Vidhi… She is not afraid to speak her truth. There is so much to learn from her because she makes you feel empowered. I have been an introvert. I’ve seen and faced things and not raised my voice against them. For 30 years of my life, I have kept quiet about so many things.  I never had the guts to tell people that it’s wrong. I told Shazia that I want to be like Vidhi; that by the end of this film, I should have the courage to speak my truth without being scared of anyone or the outcome. Now, I do stand up for the right things. This film made me open up a lot more.”

From critically acclaimed roles in Laila Majnu, Qala, and Bulbul, to the breakthrough in Animal and now with leading roles in films like Bad Newz and Dhadak 2, Triptii is clearly on the rise.
