Triptii Dimri on Playing Vidhi in Dhadak 2: “I Never Had The Guts…”

Triptii Dimri will be seen in the movie Dhadak 2, where she is starring alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi. During one of her interactions, as a part of her promotions for Dhadak 2, Triptii and her co-star Siddhant Chaturvedi opened up about the story of the movie, which stems from fighting against casteism and uniting for love and peace. Referring to her character Vidhi, Triptii opened up about taking up the role and feeling empowered. She said, “For me, she is Vidhi… She is not afraid to speak her truth. There is so much to learn from her because she makes you feel empowered.”

She continued about how different she is from her character in the movie. Triptii shared that she has been an introvert and never raised her voice against injustice. She noted that she believed in keeping quiet and letting things take their own shape. But by the end of the movie, she wanted to be like Vidhi, her character. She added, “I have been an introvert. I’ve seen and faced things and not raised my voice against them. For 30 years of my life, I have kept quiet about so many things. I never had the guts to tell people that it’s wrong. I told Shazia that I want to be like Vidhi; that by the end of this film, I should have the courage to speak my truth without being scared of anyone or the outcome. Now, I do stand up for the right things. This film made me open up a lot more.”

Directed by Shazia Iqbal, Dhadak 2 is scheduled to release on August 1. Apart from Dhadak 2, Triptii Dimri also has a few more interesting projects in her kitty. They include Vishal Bhardwaj’s next with Shahid Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, opposite Prabhas.
