Vicky Kaushal & More Salute Soldiers on Kargil Vijay Diwas With Emotional Tributes

On July 26, India commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas, marking 26 years since the nation’s victory in the 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan. The day is observed to honour the courage, sacrifice, and valour of Indian soldiers who fought to reclaim the mountain peaks in the Kargil district of Ladakh. Joining the nation in paying heartfelt tributes were several Bollywood celebrities, many of whom have portrayed soldiers on screen and continue to express strong solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces.
Vicky Kaushal, who played Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw in the recent film Sam Bahadur, shared a powerful message on his Instagram story, “Salute and deepest gratitude to our brave hearts for their courage and valor. Their supreme sacrifice will forever inspire us. Jai Hind. #KargilVijayDiwas.”

Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who brought the story of Captain Vikram Batra to life in the 2021 film Shershaah, also paid homage. He shared a photo of the late officer, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, writing, “To the countless brave hearts who stood tall so we could sleep safe; your spirit lives on in every heartbeat of a proud and graceful nation. Saluting your sacrifice, today and always. #KargilVijayDiwas.

 Akshay Kumar marked the occasion by sharing a Hindi message on Instagram: “Tribute to all those heroes who gave us this freedom and peace. Jai Hind.”
