Param Sundari’s release pushed to next month to avoid clash with Saiyaara, Metro…In Dino & Dhadak 2?

According to earlier reports, it was believed that the release of the romantic drama Param Sundari, featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, was moved from its initial July 25 date to avoid a box office clash with Son of Sardaar 2. However, sources within indicate that the postponement was also influenced by a flurry of romantic films scheduled for release during the subsequent weeks.

As per a report, the filmmakers made a strategic decision to postpone the release of Param Sundari, opting to avoid a direct clash with two big romantic dramas, Anurag Basu’s Metro…In Dino and Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara. In addition, Dhadak 2 releases in theatres on August 1 as well. The source said, “Param Sundari has its own voice. With two romantic dramas releasing in quick succession, the makers didn’t want it to be reduced to just another love story. They felt the film would benefit from a breather.”

The film is now expected to release in theatres on either August 29 or September 5, which should provide it with ample opportunity and a distinct presence. Also, the team is utilizing this delay smartly. A source revealed, “A new promotional song will be filmed closer to the release, once Sidharth wraps up his current commitments and eases into his new role as a father.”

Directed by Tushar Jalota, the filmmaker of Dasvi, Param Sundari is presented as a touching cross-cultural love story, portraying the connection between a young man from North India and a young woman from South India. Featuring the fresh pairing of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, the film is anticipated to showcase a modern romance, paired with the distinctive style and heartwarming narrative approach characteristic of Maddock Films.
