Reports: Shah Rukh Khan Suffers Injury on King Set, Flies to US for Treatment
King, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is among the most anticipated releases of 2026. Its filming started in May this year, and a recent report says that Shah Rukh Khan sustained an injury while performing demanding action sequences. The incident occurred at the Golden Tobacco studio in Mumbai, and the actor has been recommended to take a one-month break.
The report says, “While exact details of the injury have been kept under wraps, Shah Rukh, along with his team, has travelled to the US for urgent medical attention. It’s nothing serious, but more of a muscular injury, as Shah Rukh over the years has injured multiple muscles of his body while performing stunts.”

According to the report, the schedule ahead for King is now expected to begin in September or October, as Shah Rukh has been recommended to prioritize rest for his recovery. It is also reported that Film City, Golden Tobacco, and YRF Studios were reserved for filming during July and August, but these bookings have been cancelled until further notice.
Earlier, Shah Rukh Khan had said, “The next film that I’m doing, King, I have to start working on it. Lose some weight, stretch a little so my groin doesn’t get caught when I’m doing action. It’s painful and hurtful. I have a bag full of icing machines. So you keep doing it. It’s the worst thing to see me on sets after action. I look really cool in the film. After that I’m tired, somebody is pressing my back, I can’t walk, and then suddenly you see people, and you give flying kisses.”

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, King also reportedly features an ensemble cast including Abhishek Bachchan, Rani Mukerji, Deepika Padukone, Arshad Warsi, Abhay Verma, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Raghav Juyal, Jaideep Ahlawat, Saurabh Shukla, and Suhana Khan.
Although the official release date for King has not been announced by the filmmakers, it is rumoured that the film is expected to release on Gandhi Jayanti next year. However, it remains to be seen if the delays in the shooting schedule will affect the film’s release date.
