The upcoming film ‘Ramayana’, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, is being made on a staggering budget of over Rs 4000 crore, spread across two parts. With this, the film is set to make history as the most expensive Indian movie ever made. “The film is being mounted at an international level and by the time both films would be made, the budget would reach over Rs 4000 crore. The team is planning to have world-class VFX and special effects to give the best experience to the audiences,” the source added.

The film is said to be a VFX-heavy project and is being crafted for a grand IMAX experience. It will also integrate AI dubbing technology, allowing viewers to watch the movie in any regional language seamlessly, a first-of-its-kind innovation in Indian cinema. Prime Focus, led by producer Namit Malhotra, is spearheading the technical aspects to deliver a visually immersive experience.

It also features Sunny Deol, Vikrant Massey, Ravi Dubey, lara Dutta, Indira Krishnan, Vivek Oberoi and Arun Govil, among others in important roles. The first part of the film is scheduled to release during Diwali 2026, followed by the second part in 2027.
