Rahul Bhat Joins Madhur Bhandarkar’s The Wives in a Bold New Avatar

Rahul Bhat, who’s been on a roll with a string of powerful performances, is all set to star in Madhur Bhandarkar’s much-anticipated film, The Wives. A source close to the project shared, “Rahul plays a high-profile Bollywood personality whose presence adds intensity and unpredictability to the film. Bhat has joined the cast for the shoot of the film.”
Known for immersing himself in challenging roles, Bhat has carved a niche for playing layered, emotionally charged characters. His role in The Wives is expected to be one of his most dynamic and talked-about performances yet. On the work front, Bhat recently announced his Hollywood debut with Lost and Found in Kumbh at the Cannes Film Festival.

Meanwhile, Madhur Bhandarkar announced today that he has begun shooting for his next, The Wives. He shared a photo with Mouni Roy as he welcomed the actress on board.

Announcing it, he wrote, “Today marks the start of my 16th film, #TheWives, an original story set in the captivating world of glamour that I’ve explored over the last four years. Finally bringing this concept-driven project to life is a dream come true. Your blessings and support are invaluable as we embark on this journey. Here’s to crafting something truly special. After the success & critical acclaimed of #indialockdown (sic).”

The film also stars Sonali Kulkarni, Regina Cassandra, Saurabh Sachdeva, Arjan Bajwa and Freddy Daruwala. Bhandarkar said that with The Wives, he wants to peel back yet another glamorous layer of society and show what lies beneath. He said, “This film will be a bold, unapologetic look at the secrets, struggles, and resilience of women who are often seen but seldom heard.” The release date of the film is yet to be announced. The Wives is being produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and P J Motion Pictures.
