“Alia Bhatt always wanted to be a star since she was 6,” reveals Mohit Suri
Mohit Suri recently shared some cherished memories of his cousin Alia Bhatt from her childhood, mentioning how the now established actress always aspired to make a career in acting.
During a recent interview, Mohit Suri shared a delightful memory of a young Alia Bhatt, describing her as possessing a certain charm, self-confidence, and a clear understanding of her aspirations, even before she reached the age of ten.
Mohit shared, “Since she was like six years old, she wanted to act.” Mohit recalled how obvious it was to everyone that Alia was meant for the camera. Her passion for films, music, and performance was evident from the start.
Mohit shared a memorable incident from 2005, specifically when one of his music remix videos from the film Zeher was newly released. He said, “The remix video on my song had come out, and Mahesh Bhatt Saab didn’t really understand it. Alia told him, ‘It’s damn good.’ She had that aptitude.” Mahesh Bhatt eventually agreed and mentioned, “If these young people like it, it means it’s really good.”
Mohit recalled that Alia seemed to possess a remarkable understanding of what would resonate with audiences, even from a very young age. He also talked about good memories of family dinners following film screenings. “I remember we used to go out for dinners after Bhatt sahab. If he liked the film, Alia and Soni would often join us. During one of our dinner outings, Alia was standing next to a lamp, looking really pretty, and I took out my phone to click a picture. She asked, ‘What are you doing?’ I said, ‘Just clicking, you look pretty.’ She immediately turned around and said, ‘You’re clicking the wrong side,’ and gave her dimple side. I think she was 8 or 9 years old. Maybe even younger. But even then, she was so clear. Alia always wanted to be an actress, be a star. We always knew that.”
On the work front, Mohit Suri’s next directorial venture, Saiyaara’s trailer released today to fans expressing their excitement for the film.
