Ramayana 1st glimpse out: Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi’s film teases epic saga
The first official glimpse – or rather, a powerful sneak peek – of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Yash as the formidable Ravana from ‘Ramayana’ is finally out. After years of build-up through announcements, casting confirmations, and production updates, the makers of this magnum opus unveiled the much-awaited teaser on July 3.
The launch was celebrated with multiple screenings across nine Indian cities, along with a major presence at New York’s Times Square – underscoring the project’s global vision. The film delves into the eternal clash between Rama and Ravana, aiming to captivate audiences worldwide with its scale, storytelling, and spectacle.

Set in a mythological era governed by the cosmic trinity of Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, the narrative follows Ravana – once an unlikely demon child – who rises to threaten universal balance. To restore harmony, Vishnu descends to Earth as Rama, setting the stage for an epic confrontation.
The film features a stellar cast: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravana, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Ravie Dubey as Lakshman. Together, they form a powerful ensemble drawn from the top ranks of Indian cinema.

The project also brings together legendary composers Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, who have collaborated on the film’s score.
Acclaimed stunt coordinators Terry Notary and Guy Norris will lead the action choreography, promising intense, large-scale battle sequences with visual and emotional weight.
Produced by Namit Malhotra and co-produced by Yash, the film is backed by Prime Focus Studios and Monster Mind Creations, in collaboration with DNEG – the eight-time Oscar-winning VFX powerhouse. Part 1 is set for a global release during Diwali 2026, with Part 2 following in Diwali 2027.
