Exclusive: “It Feels Like Yesterday” – Shikha Talsania Recalls Working on Wake Up Sid

In an exclusive conversation with Filmfare, Shikha Talsania looked back on her time working in the much-loved film Wake Up Sid, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma. The film, which released in 2009, continues to hold a special place in the hearts of fans and in Shikha’s too.

She recalled the inclusive and warm atmosphere on set. “I think Ayan and Karan both… just the way they were so inclusive… even Ranbir… all of us, everybody on that set was so inclusive,” she said. For Shikha, the experience is still fresh in her memory. “It really feels like yesterday, even though it was quite a while back.”

Talking about the energy on set, Shikha said it was all about being welcoming and making sure everyone felt like part of the scene. She shared, “You have to be inclusive and make sure that everybody’s in the scene.”

She also spoke about how much fun they had while shooting the songs. She remembered with a smile, “Like half of the songs that we shot, like Kya Karoon that we were shooting, and we were painting walls in Life Is Crazy song, these were an absolutely fun experience.”

Even years later, fans haven’t forgotten her role. She laughed and shared, “Till this day, I have random people coming up and being like, ‘Where is Aisha’s flat in Bandra?’ I said, ‘It’s in Yash Raj Studio, sorry!’”

For Shikha, the bond shared by the cast shows on screen. She added, “That entire song, what you can see I think is organic chemistry.”

Wake Up Sid may be over a decade old, but clearly, the memories and the magic remain strong in the hearts of both the actors and the fans.
