Upcoming Hollywood Movies Releasing in July: Heads of State, Superman and More

The month of July promises to be an exciting one when it comes to Hollywood releases. A plethora of films to choose from, this month shall bring forth, different genres to choose from. We take a look at the Hollywood films slated to release in July.

Heads Of State

Release Date: July 2

An action-comedy starring a stellar cast of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, John Cena, and Idris Elba, this has been one of the most talked about and anticipated movies since the last few weeks. The story follows the two world leaders, who must set aside their rivalry to fight a global conspiracy after becoming targets of a dangerous foreign adversary. This film will be released on Prime Video.

The Old Guard 2

Release Date: July 2

A sequel to the superhero film released in 2020, it marks the return of The Old Guard, a group of immortal soldiers, led by the Andromache of Scythia. The film will be released on Netflix.

Jurassic World Rebirth

Release Date:  July 4

This is the standalone sequel to Jurassic World Dominion and the fourth Jurassic World film. Starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, and Jonathan Bailey amongst others, it promises to bring a thrilling ride for the viewers with the dinosaurs returning to wreak havoc.

Superman 

Release Date: July 11

Everyone’s most loved superhero returns to the big screen in the much-awaited, Superman. Written and directed by James Gunn, it will be the first film in the DC Universe and the second reboot of the Superman film series.

Smurfs

Release Date: July 18

A reboot of the Smurfs film series, it stars Rihanna, who also produces the movie, as the voice of Smurfette alongside an ensemble cast. The film will see the Smurfs embark on a mission to save Papa Smurf from the evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel.

I Know What You Did Last Summer

Release Date: July 18

The “slasher” film returns after 27 years as a sequel to the 1998 release, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and the fourth instalment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. The plot takes place 27 years after the Tower Bay murders and follows yet another intriguing killer.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Release Date: July 25

Yet another superhero special, this film is based on the famous superhero team from Marvel, The Fantastic Four. It will feature the Fantastic Four protecting their 1960’s inspired retro-futuristic world from Galactus, the planet-devouring cosmic.
