According to Variety, the storyline will explore a tense rivalry, Miranda depends on Emily’s company for advertising revenue as print magazines falter in a digital world.
Filming has officially commenced, with production taking place across New York and Italy starting in July. Though Anne Hathaway’s return as Andy Sachs is not yet confirmed, she hasn’t ruled it out. Stanley Tucci, famed for his role as Nigel, has expressed optimism: “if it happens, I would be so happy”.
Original director David Frankel, producer Wendy Finerman, and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, responsible for the witty and sharp screenplay of the first instalment, are back on board.
