Meryl Streep and Emily Blunt Reunite As Devil Wears Prada 2 Goes on Floors
Many familiar faces are expected to return. Meryl Streep is likely to reprise her iconic role as the formidable Miranda Priestly, while Emily Blunt is set to return as Emily Charlton- now transformed from assistant to high-powered executive. According to Variety, the storyline will explore a tense rivalry, Miranda depends on Emily’s company for advertising revenue as print magazines falter in a digital world.

Filming has officially commenced, with production taking place across New York and Italy starting in July. Though Anne Hathaway’s return as Andy Sachs is not yet confirmed, she hasn’t ruled it out. Stanley Tucci, famed for his role as Nigel, has expressed optimism: “if it happens, I would be so happy”.
Original director David Frankel, producer Wendy Finerman, and screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna, responsible for the witty and sharp screenplay of the first instalment, are back on board.
Their return ensures the sequel remains rooted in the same blend of fashion satire, power dynamics, and razor-sharp dialogue that won global acclaim first time around, with the 2006 film grossing over US D 326 million.
Emily Blunt recently teased her scenes with Streep, teasing a dynamic she described as, “Why are Meryl and I so mean to each other in every movie we do? We always have beef with each other. I don’t know what it is. Let’s hope we remedy it”. The reunion of the icy editor and her former protégé is set to be a highlight, tied closely to the high-stakes world of luxury branding.

As wardrobes are cracked, lattes poured, and boardroom warfare set for a comeback, The Devil Wears Prada 2 stands poised to recapture the irresistible charisma and cultural impact of its predecessor. May 2026 can’t come soon enough.
