Priyanka Chopra Jonas Says The Virgin Wife Quote Was Falsely Attributed to Her

A fake quote attributed to Priyanka Chopra Jonas had been doing the rounds of social media recently, and now the actress has publicly called it out. She shared a post from a social media page called The Brief India which had falsely attributed a quote to her on women and virginity. The quote read, “Don’t look for a virgin as wife. Get a woman with good manners. Virginity ends in one night but manners last forever.”

The actress shared the screenshot of the quote on Instagram’s story section and issued a statement to set the record straight. She clarified that it is not her quote and urged people to not fall prey to misinformation peddled on social media.

Her clarification read, “This is not me, my quote or my voice. Just because it’s online, doesn’t make it true. Creating fake content is now an easy way to achieve virality.” The actress continued, “None of the links or ‘sources’ attached to this claim, or many others online, are real or credible. Take a minute to cross-check such content and don’t believe everything you scroll past. Stay safe online.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka is all geared up for the release of her film, Heads of State, co-starring Idris Elba and John Cena. She recently attended the New York premiere of the film along with her co-stars. The actress wore a silver fitted ensemble and paired it with stone-studded earrings and a sleek hairstyle.

Directed by Ilya Naishuller, the film focuses on two world leaders, who try hard to keep their grudges aside and work towards bringing down a global conspiracy against them. Apart from Priyanka, Idris and John, the movie also stars Jack Quaid, Paddy Considine, Stephen Root and Carla Gugino among others. It will be released on July 2nd.
