Exclusive: Triptii Dimri shares the best acting advice she got from Saurabh Sachdeva

Triptii Dimri has slowly made her mark in the film industry. From her debut in Laila Majnu to performances in Qala and Bulbbul, she has shown range and growth. Even though she received criticism for her role in Animal, Triptii has always focused on improving with each film. In an episode of In The Ring With Filmfare, she opened up about her acting journey and one piece of advice that hugely impacted her.

Triptii shared that the best advice she got was from actor Saurabh Sachdeva. While preparing for an audition, she found it hard to understand the character she was given. She turned to Sachdeva sir for help, and he agreed to train her. What followed was a three-day workshop just for that audition. 

During this time, he told her something that stayed with her, “You are judging your character.” He explained that if an actor judges their character, they cannot play it with honesty. Even if the character is doing something wrong, like killing someone, the actor must believe in it while performing. “You have to be your character’s best friend,” he explained. That line made a big impact on Triptii.

He kept pushing her to relate more with her character and be honest in her acting. This experience helped her change how she approaches every role now. Triptii also shared that she tries to find a “happy place” in her character and perform without judgment.

What makes this advice even more special is that Saurabh Sachdeva later played her co-actor in Animal. From training under him to acting alongside him, Triptii definitely came a full circle. It reminded her about her growth as a performer and the importance of looking to keep evolving. She will next be seen in Dhadak 2, a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018), opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi, slated to release on August 1.
