“Can’t be my obnoxious normal self” – Ram Kapoor reflects on being dropped from Mistry promotions

Following the accusations of making inappropriate remarks to crew members during promotional activities for his upcoming show Mistry, Ram Kapoor was removed from all promotional events. The details of these events were revealed on Tuesday. In a recent interview, Ram Kapoor has shared his perspective, acknowledging the accusations against him. He explained that he tends to become bindaas in the company of those he feels comfortable with and expressed his apologies to anyone he may have offended.

During the interview, Ram expressed his acceptance of the accusations, also offering his perspective on the matter. He explained that he was caught up in the situation and did not fully consider that his words might cause offense to those present. He further added that if he had been aware of the impact of his actions, he would have addressed the situation immediately.

 Regarding the incident where he commented on a female crew member’s attire, Ram mentioned that he had also made similar remark to male crew members within his view. He then justified as to why he would make such a comment openly in front of the media if he considered it inappropriate.

He acknowledged that although he believed his words originated from a “harmless space,” he has come to understand that he cannot behave in his “obnoxious normal way” around team members who are half his age, as they were offended, and that this is not acceptable. He expressed his understanding of the seriousness of the situation, recognizing that his fans and his son look up to him, which makes the entire incident even more disheartening. Also, Ram expressed his respect for JioHotstar’s decision to remove him from all promotional events following the complaints, and he accepted that this experience has provided him with a valuable lesson.
