Photos from the special screening of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ held for President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan were shared on Wednesday. The film hit theatres on June 20 and has since garnered praise from viewers and critics alike.

From warm interactions with the debutant actors to being honoured by Aamir Khan’s partner Gauri Spratt, the pictures offered a heartening glimpse into a memorable evening. The screening took place on June 24.

Sharing a series of moments from the event on Instagram, the official handle of Aamir Khan Productions wrote, “The Hon’ble President of India watched Sitaare Zameen Par at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and we are deeply grateful for the warmth and generosity extended by her, her family, and her staff. Everyone involved with the film was welcomed and cared for with such genuine kindness and affection (sic).”

The note continued, “We are truly humbled and overjoyed by how much the President appreciated the film. From all of us on Team #SitaareZameenPar – thank you, ma’am. This will always remain one of our most cherished memories (sic).”

One of the photos shows President Murmu watching the heartwarming sports drama alongside others at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Tuesday.

Another endearing moment captures her interacting with the debutant actors.

The president was also seen engaging in a conversation with actor Genelia Deshmukh, who looked elegant in an off-white salwar suit paired with matching juttis.

In a touching gesture, Gauri Spratt is also seen presenting a memento to President Murmu on behalf of the team.

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is directed by RS Prasanna, who had earlier directed ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’. Aamir Khan plays a basketball coach to a team of neurodivergent people in the film.
