John Abraham to Star in Abhishek Sharma’s Munkeeman

John Abraham and director Abhishek Sharma reunite after Parmanu for a big budget superhero franchise. Their movie Munkeeman will be backed by producer Mahaveer Jain. It is scheduled to go on the floors in early 2026. Fans are excited as the movie promises extravagant scenes and John will be seen in a striking avatar.

Interestingly, reports have further mentioned that it is a high-octane superhero movie with genre-bending theme. Reportedly, John and all the other stakeholders of this project are extremely excited about it as nothing of this sort has been seen in the Indian film industry before. It is supposed to be an ambitious movie, which is meant for a grand theatrical experience.

John, on the other hand, is currently filming Rohit Shetty’s much-anticipated biopic on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria. We had also recently learnt that John, alongside Tamannaah Bhatia, wrapped up a shoot schedule in Panchgani. It was previously reported by leading news channels that John and Tamannaah were reuniting for a Rohit Shetty-helmed cop film.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Abhishek Sharma is also reportedly developing the much-awaited sequel to Garam Masala. It would be interesting to note how the reunion works. Mahaveer Jain is associated with another big-budget creature comedy, called Naagzilla. Kartik Aaryan has been roped in for the leading role. The movie is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba.

The actor and the makers had shared an intriguing motion poster of Naagzilla. Kartik was seen showing his back while snakes surrounded him. The caption read, “Insanon wali picharein toh bahut dekh leen, ab dekho naagon wali pichchar #Naagzilla – Naag lok ka Pehla kaand…. Funnn phailaane Aa raha hu main, Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand… Naag Panchami par aapke nazdeeki Sssssinemas mein…” The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
