Netizens React As Hania Aamir CONFIRMS She Plays a Crucial Role in Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3
After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Pakistani actress Hania Aamir is part of Diljit Dosanjh’s upcoming film, Sardaar Ji 3. The trailer was revealed yesterday, and it showcased the actress playing a pivotal role in the horror-comedy. She also took to her social media handle to share the trailer. The film will skip the India release and will only hit the theatres overseas on June 27.
It was earlier reported that Hania would make her Bollywood debut with this film. However, after the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April this year, Pakistani actors were once again stopped from working in India, and a strict warning was issued to Indian artistes against working with their Pakistani counterparts in any capacity. It was speculated that Hania would be dropped from the film.
As soon as Hania’s role was unveiled, netizens took to social media to share their opinions. While some seemed happy with the trailer, others slammed Diljit for working with a Pakistani actress amid India’s tension with its neighbour. One comment under Diljit’s post read, “Was really excited for this movie but not anymore. Nation is always 1st priority over anyone,” while another person shared, “POWER MOVE! I’m so happy to see that the man I’ve admired for his humanity, integrity and his respect for others has DELIVERED!”
Many comments were calling the Punjabi actor-singer a traitor and slamming him for not choosing his country. A comment on Reddit read, “Never liked him, never will. Disgusted by him.” Meanwhile, Hania’s Instagram account remains suspended in India.
