Diljit Dosanjh Confirms Detective Sherdil’s Sequel?
Detective Sherdil is now out and streaming, having skipped a theatrical release to premiere directly online on June 20. While the film has sparked mixed reactions, what’s caught even more attention is what comes next. Diljit Dosanjh, who plays the sharp and witty detective, wraps up the film with a cheeky line “Toh milenge agli baar, ek naye case ke saath” confirming that a sequel is definitely on the cards.

The film begins with the murder of a billionaire played by Boman Irani, found dead on a deserted road with no evidence in sight. At first, it seems like a clear-cut case, but things start to get complicated once Detective Sherdil takes over. Clue by clue he uncovers a far more layered mystery. By the end, the film ties everything up in a tight satisfying reveal while also leaving viewers with something to look forward to.
Meanwhile, Diljit’s next big project Sardaar Ji 3 has landed in controversy even before its release. The trailer confirmed that Pakistani actor Hania Aamir plays a prominent role which has led to backlash online. Amid rising India Pakistan tensions following the recent Pahalgam terror attack and India’s response through Operation Sindoor, the casting has upset many. The trailer is currently unavailable in India and reports suggest the film won’t see a release in the country either.

Outside of the film world, Diljit is staying busy in music and storytelling. His recent track Buck with Korean pop star Jackson Wang is making waves internationally. Jackson even flew to India for promotions where he met Hrithik Roshan during his stay. Diljit is also developing a US based docu series tracing his inspiring journey from a small-town Punjabi singer to a global name, a project his fans are eagerly waiting for.
