‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ Trailer Sees Danny Devito Star as the Next ‘Bachelor’

It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is gearing up for its 17th season with the release of its official trailer.

The teaser gives a first glance at the It’s Alway Sunny and Abbott Elementary crossover episode, this time from the perspective of the latter characters entering the former universe. The trailer, too, teased Danny DeVito’s Frank Reynolds starring as the latest Bachelor in, yes, the real Bachelor franchise universe alongside franchise host Jesse Palmer.

Notably, the It’s Always Sunny gang has already visited Quinta Brunson’s elementary school sitcom’s ninth episode, entitled “Volunteers.” There, the personalities from Paddy’s Pub fulfilled their court-ordered community service requirement.

“They represent a part of South Philly, and we represent a part of West Philly that is very real, and it wasn’t a long walk for these characters to interact,” Brunson previously told THR of the crossover episodes. “It just made sense immediately. And when it came to us that easy, we were like, ‘Yeah, we have to do this.’ … Charlie [Day] and Rob [McElhenney] came into the room with us one day, they were wonderful, just excellent, excellent collaborators. I can’t say enough kind words about them. We had a ball. We’ve been having a ball on set. They’re just a delight to work with.”

Season 17 will arrive July 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FXX with two brand-new episodes, with episodes available to stream the next-day on Hulu.
