Saif Ali Khan attack: Mumbai police investigate woman from West Bengal
The Mumbai police have found the owner of the sim card that the accused of the Saif Ali Khan attack case, Shariful Islam, was using. The owner has been traced to be a woman from West Bengal. Upon questioning, she mentioned that her phone was missing for days.
For those unaware, the police arrested a man named Vijay Das, who was later identified as Shariful Islam. He is a Bangladeshi national who crossed the border to India in search of better opportunities and have been living under different identities. The police also retrieved official documents of the accused to confirm his nationality.
Saif Ali Khan was attacked on January 16 while safeguarding his family from a robbery. He sustained six injuries, including a serious stab wound. He was discharged from the hospital after undergoing one surgery.
