Kate Mara Boards ‘Imperfect Women’ at Apple TV+
Apple TV+ has found the third star of its upcoming limited series Imperfect Women.
Kate Mara has joined the drama based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name. Mara will star opposite Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington in the series.
Apple describes Imperfect Women as a psychological thriller examining a crime that “shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women,” played by Moss, Washington and Mara. “Imperfect Women is a mystery complicated by perspective that explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest relationships can change over time,” the logline reads.
Annie Weisman (Physical, Based on a True Story) is adapting Hall’s novel and executive producing with Moss and Lindsey McManus of Love & Squalor Pictures, which initially optioned the novel; Washington and her Simpson Street partner Pilar Savone; and Hall. The series is a co-production of 20th Television and Apple Studios.
Mara earned an Emmy nomination in 2014 for her role on Netflix’s House of Cards. Her TV credits also include FX’s A Teacher and Pose and Hulu’s Class of ’09. She also stars in the upcoming sci-fi feature film The Astronaut.
