Caroline Kennedy Excoriates RFK Jr. Ahead of Confirmation: “A Predator”

In one of the most devastating personal attacks yet on Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Caroline Kennedy, Robert’s cousin, has issued a letter to lawmakers ahead of Robert’s confirmation hearings for Health and Human Services secretary.

The letter, first obtained by The Washington Post and later posted in video form to her son Jack Schlossberg’s X account, accuses Robert of being “addicted to attention and power” and someone who has personally enriched himself through his anti-vaccination crusades — while hypocritically vaccinating his own children.

“I have known Bobby my whole life; we grew up together,” writes Caroline, daughter of John F. Kennedy and former U.S. ambassador to Australia. “It’s no surprise that he keeps birds of prey as pets because he himself is a predator.”

Caroline says her cousin, who has spoken openly about his past heroin habit, led other family members “down the path of drug addiction.

“His basement, his garage, his dorm room were the centers of the action where drugs were available, and he enjoyed showing off how he put baby chickens and mice in the blender to feed his hawks. It was often a perverse scene of despair and violence,” she writes.

Adds Caroline, the “siblings and cousins who Bobby encouraged down the path of substance abuse suffered addiction, illness and death while Bobby has gone on to misrepresent, lie and cheat his way through life.”

Kennedy, who is running on a “Make America Healthy Again” platform, can only afford to lose three Republican votes at his confirmation. Several GOP lawmakers — including Sen. Bill Cassidy and Sen. Mitch McConnell — have already expressed concerns about his record on abortion rights (which he has favored) and vaccines (which he opposes — and which McConnell, as a polio survivor, vehemently supports).

The conservative New York Post, which typically falls in line with Trump policy, also issued a rare op-ed critical of the president’s choice of Kennedy as HHS head in November and has doubled-down on their opposition this week, calling him in a new editorial “a radical left lunatic who is anti-energy, a ‘big time; taxer and completely incoherent about our nation’s health.”

Kennedy and wife Cheryl Hines opened up to The Hollywood Reporter for a cover story one year ago, when he was running for president as an independent.

“I see my family all the time,” Kennedy says in the piece. “I just came back from 10 days of skiing with the whole family, with Cheryl there. I mean, listen, I grew up in a milieu where we were raised to argue passionately with each other and still love each other. I feel my family loves me. There’s 105 members of my family, and a lot of them are supporting my campaign strongly. And there’s a small number that has criticized me — and that’s OK.”

Kennedy’s confirmation hearings begin tomorrow at 7 a.m. PT and air live on C-Span.
