Stephen Amell Runs the West Coast Firm in ‘Suits: L.A.’ Trailer

Suits is returning — but this time, it’s leaving the Big Apple behind and is heading to the West Coast.

NBC has released the official trailer for Suits: LA, a spinoff of the beloved drama series Suits, which aired on USA Network from 2011 to 2019 and starred Patrick J. Adams and the now Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle. Stephen Amell leads Suits: LA as Ted Black, a former New York prosecutor who now runs his own firm in Los Angeles.

The logline reads: “His firm is at a crisis point, and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.”

The trailer opens with Victoria Justice’s Dylan Pryor turning down a deal Black offered her. “You don’t represent me. I need someone with confidence. And you just seem a little sheepish to me,” she says.

Elsewhere in the trailer, Black says: “It’s different out here. People lie. They cheat. They do whatever they can to win.” Meanwhile, toward the end, Gabriel Macht, who played Harvey Specter, is shown in an old photo that Troy Winbush’s Kevin is looking at. “I never liked him, he’s the only person I knew cockier than you,” Kevin says to Black, to which Black responds, “That’s exactly why I liked him.”

Bryan Greenberg, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis, Patton Oswalt and Brian Baumgartner round out the cast. Aaron Korsh writes and executive produces the show.

Suits: LA is set to premiere on NBC on Feb. 23.
