Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjab 95 to release without any cuts

Diljit Dosanjh starrer Punjab 95 will be released with no cuts. This news comes amid reports of the Central Board of Film Certification demanding 120 cuts in the film. Punjab 95 is based on Jaswant Singh Khalra. His wife Paramjit Kaur Khalra had earlier condemned the censor board’s demand for multiple cuts and said that the biopic was made with the family’s consent and should be released without any cuts.

Now, reports say that the film will finally be released without any cuts. In December, The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee brought together a group of historians to study the accuracy of the film and came to the conclusion that the film does not target anyone and shows the truth of Punjab in an unadulterated fashion.
Meanwhile, Diljit’s team shared a fresh photo of his character from the film and hinted that it will be released in February. Diljit, too, reposted the photo and wrote that the trailer would be out soon. Take a look:

Jaswant Singh Khalra was a human rights activist. Over the span of ten years, he investigated the cremation of thousands of unidentified bodies in Punjab and uncovered human rights violations. He was kidnapped in 1995 and subsequently murdered.

The film is helmed by Honey Trehan and produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies.
