Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR to Promote War 2 Separately
Yash Raj Films is gearing up for the release of its much-awaited spy thriller War 2, with just six weeks left before it hits the big screen. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in their first on-screen collaboration, the film has generated massive buzz. Interestingly, the two stars will not be seen together during the film’s promotional campaign. Instead, they will promote the movie separately as part of a carefully thought-out strategy.
Sources reveal that YRF wants to maintain the surprise and intensity of Hrithik and NTR’s onscreen clash by keeping them apart until the film’s release. “There won’t be a single event, video or appearance featuring them together before the film is out,” says a trade insider. The makers believe this approach will heighten the excitement for their epic face-off. The first glimpse of their interaction is meant to unfold only in the theatres, ensuring maximum impact.
War 2 continues the story of the 2019 blockbuster War and is part of the growing YRF Spy Universe, which also includes the Tiger and Pathaan films. YRF has become known for unconventional marketing methods. A key example was Pathaan, where none of the lead actors gave media interviews prior to release. Despite that, the film broke major box office records. The goal behind such strategies is to keep the audience’s curiosity alive without revealing much.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji and featuring Kiara Advani alongside Hrithik and NTR, War 2 is slated for release on August 14, just ahead of Independence Day. The film will also be available in IMAX, adding to the cinematic experience. With YRF’s track record and this intriguing promotional move, the anticipation for War 2 is only expected to grow in the coming weeks.
