Sarzameen starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, Kajol & Ibrahim Ali Khan to release in July

Earlier today, JioHotstar posted the official announcement video of the upcoming patriotic film, Sarzameen, featuring Kajol, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Ibrahim Ali Khan.

 

In the film, Prithviraj Sukumaran portrays a disciplined and honourable army officer who prioritizes his nation. Kajol plays his emotional wife, who shows worry and concern for her husband’s safety, while he confronts enemies at the border.

 

In a contrast to his romantic debut in Nadaaniyan, Ibrahim Ali Khan presents a completely different appearance in this film. He is seen in a bearded look, engaging in intense fight sequences. The video concludes with Ibrahim in an army uniform, taking aim at Prithviraj with his gun.

The film is set in the backdrop of a Kashmir that is becoming unstable and dangerous. The film is based on Vijay Menon (Prithviraj), who is recognized for his unwavering sense of duty and personal sacrifice. Meanwhile, Meera (Kajol), is a strong mother and wife, choosing whatever she can to support her husband. Harman (Ibrahim) portrays a fierce man who had a menacing look on his face and a sense of greyness to his character.

 

The video was posted along with the caption, “Sarzameen ki salamati se badhkar kuch nahi.” Directed by Kayoze Irani and produced by Karan Johar, the film will be released on JioHotstar on July 25.

Kayoze spoke about the film, he is gearing up for his second directorial Sarzameen post Ajeeb Daastaans in 2021, “Sarzameen will always hold a special place in my heart, not just because it marks my first feature film as a director, but because it gave me the chance to tell a story that is both deeply intimate and profoundly intense.”

He added, “Working with phenomenal artists like Prithviraj sir, Kajol ma’am, and Ibrahim each of whom brought such emotional depth and honesty to their performances has been nothing short of a privilege.”
