‘House of David’ Studio Wonder Project Is Launching Its Own SVOD Service on Amazon Prime Video

Wonder Project, an indie studio focused on faith-based programming, is launching its on subscription service on Amazon Prime Video. The two parties have already collaborated on the successful House of David series, which tells the biblical story of David vs. Goliath — now, if you you want to watch season two (with any degree of timeliness), you’ll have to fork over another $8.99 per month on top of your existing Prime Video subscription.

Prime Video itself starts at $8.99/month — and that’s with ads. For ad-free, add another $2.99; a general Prime membership, which includes free shipping on most Amazon.com orders, costs $14.99 (with ads on Prime video) or $17.98 to go commercial-free.

The SVOD service, also titled Wonder Project, will be available in the U.S. this fall. It will feature early access to new Wonder Project original films and series, and, at launch, have “over 1,000 hours of highly curated movies and TV series that reflect the company’s mission: to entertain the world with courageous stories, inspiring hope and restoring faith in things worth believing in,” Tuesday’s announcement reads. The library will feature mostly non-Wonder Project content.

Season two of House of David will be on Wonder Project in time for launch; it will be made available on Prime Video “at a later date.”

Jon Erwin and Jon Gunn are Wonder Projects creative leads and the directors, writers and executive producers of House of David season one, which Amazon says “has captivated over 40 million viewers worldwide. Whatever the measurement is for captivating.

Erwin formed Wonder Project with its CEO, Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten.

“At Wonder Project, we seek to entertain our growing audience with courageous stories that restore faith in things worth believing in. Great films and TV shows bring families, friends and communities together and drive meaningful connection in a world that is craving connection right now,” she said in a statement. “As a mother, I can’t wait to have this shared viewing experience in my own home — through a brand we can truly call our own.”

“We’re thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of the Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video. This exciting addition to our service reflects our commitment to providing diverse, meaningful content that resonates with our customers,” Ryan Pirozzi, head of Prime Video Marketplace, said. “This launch represents another step in our ongoing efforts to ensure Prime Video offers something for everyone, and we look forward to seeing how this new offering enriches the viewing experience for our customers.”

“We are blown away by the success of House of David and can’t wait for audiences to be swept away into the epic action and drama of season two,” Erwin added. “Our audience is underserved and craves a destination they can trust with exceptional originals and curated movies and TV shows. With the new Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video, we will be delivering all of that and more.”

Upcoming Wonder Project titles include Sarah’s Oil, releasing in theaters November 7, 2025 via Amazon MGM Studios; The Breadwinner in partnership with TriStar Pictures starring comedian Nate Bargatze; It’s Not Like That, a new drama series with Amazon MGM Studios starring Scott Foley and Erinn Hayes; Young Washington, a feature film in partnership with Angel Studios about the origins of America’s first president; and Flyer, a narrative feature film in development about the Wright brothers.

Angel Studios is not just a creative partner for Wonder Project here — it’s also the blueprint. Angel Studios famously broke through with box office hit Sound of Freedom in 2023. Angel also has its own streaming service, Angel, which costs $12 (with ads) and $20 (ad-free, plus two tickets to every Angel Studios theatrical release).
