Exclusive: Anu Aggarwal on Being Compared With Madhuri Dixit and Sridevi
Anu explained that her film choices were different from those of her contemporaries. She said, “Sridevi was the top lady at that time. Madhuri Dixit was second. But the kind of films they did, Anu Aggarwal didn’t do.” She highlighted that she was not interested in doing certain types of roles, like item numbers. She added, “I wouldn’t do it. Not because of anything else, not because of any moral compulsion. It’s just not my style, you know?”

Anu Aggarwal’s focus was on doing meaningful roles that made a difference. “I need films where roles make a difference, where roles are solid,” she said. Although she acknowledged her ability to dance and look pretty, she said that she didn’t want to do roles that didn’t challenge her. “I can look very pretty. I can dance to the best songs, I can do it. But I didn’t really want to do it,” she shared.
