Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par Gets Clearance From CBFC After Alleged Dispute
Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Parhas received a clearance certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification. It is the spiritual sequel of Khan’s 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Earlier, there were reports that there were disputes between the actor and the board regarding certain cuts in the film. The film had trouble receiving certification due to requested edits that Khan refused to make.
A source was quoted by Bollywood Hungama as saying, “The CBFC has asked for two cuts. Aamir Khan feels the film should be passed without these cuts. He and director R.S. Prasanna have made the film with a lot of thought. Certain scenes and dialogues, when seen in context, seem completely appropriate.”

The source continued, “With Aamir Khan not accepting the cuts, the censor certificate wasn’t awarded to Sitaare Zameen Par. Aamir now plans to once again meet the CBFC Examining Committee on Monday and put forward his point of view. Hopefully, a solution will be achieved and the CBFC will pass the film on June 16. Once that’s done, the advance booking of the film will be thrown open. As per rules, cinemas can’t sell tickets in the absence of a censor certificate.”
However, now we are getting to know that the film has been cleared by the board and will be released on June 20, as originally announced.

Aamir Khan is returning to the big screen with Sitaare Zameen Par after Laal Singh Chaddha. The film also stars Genelia D’Souza. The movie will launch ten rising stars, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar. It is directed by RS Prasanna. Last night, a special screening of the film was held in the city, which was attended by the cast members and their close ones. Aamir’s partner, Gauri Spratt, was also in attendance.
