Exclusive: Shreya Ghoshal Speaks About Feeling Shy While Recording Jadu Hai Nasha Hai

Singer Shreya Ghoshal recently shared a special memory about her hit song Jadu Hai Nasha Hai from the film Jism in an exclusive conversation with Filmfare editor Jitesh Pillai on In The Ring with Filmfare. The song, which was a huge success, holds a unique place in her heart due to its bold nature for that time. Shreya revealed that when she first heard the song and was asked to “imagine” the visuals, she was a bit shy. The film’s poster itself was quite daring for the early 2000s, featuring actress Bipasha Basu with a sultry look and a bold pose. In that era, showing so much skin was not common in Bollywood.

The film’s story was also much bolder than what audiences were used to. Shreya recalls the first time the song’s promo aired on television, which was the main way people discovered new music back then. She saw the beautiful visuals of Bipasha coming out of the ocean and felt a mix of happiness and shyness. The song was so lovely, but the visuals made her “go red in the ears.” She mentioned that what was considered very bold then now feels completely normal showing how much the industry has evolved.
