Humans face their biggest fight yet against extinction in season three of Invasion.
The sci-fi series premieres on Aug. 22 on Apple TV+ and finally unites the main characters whose journeys were followed during the first two seasons. “The ultimate apex aliens have finally emerged, rapidly spreading their deadly tendrils across our planet. It will take all our heroes working together, using all their experience and expertise, to save our species. New relationships are formed, old relationships are challenged and even shattered as an international cast of characters must become a team before it’s too late,” per the logline.

The drama’s third season follows the invasion through the eyes of people around the world: Aneesha (Golshifteh Farahani), a mother of two who leads her family to survival; Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna), a JASA communications specialist who can also communicate with the aliens; Trevante (Shamier Anderson), a Navy Seal who returns home from Afghanistan; and schoolchildren Jamila (India Brown) and Caspar (Billy Barratt), who have a unique connection to the extraterrestrials. Erika Alexander also joins the third season as a series regular.

Invasion was co-created by Oscar- and Emmy-nominated executive producers Simon Kinberg and David Weil. Kinberg previously told The Hollywood Reporter that he consulted experts from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the SETI Institute, a research organization devoted to investigating life beyond Earth, for opinions on everything from astrophysics to what governments and militaries might actually do in the case of an invasion.

Invasion season three’s first episode premieres on Friday, Aug. 22, and streams exclusively on Apple TV+. The season spans 10 parts, with each installment released weekly through Oct. 24.
