Did AR Murugadoss First Pitch Madharaasi to Shah Rukh Khan?

AR Murugadoss recently revealed that he was planning to work with Shah Rukh Khan in Madharaasi. Interestingly, King Khan was approached for the movie before Sivakarthikeyan. During an interview with Galatta Plus, Murugadoss spilled the beans about the upcoming Tamil movie.

As per the filmmaker, he had initially planned on making the movie in Hindi with Shah Rukh Khan in the leading role. However, he noted that he had only pitched the main character to the superstar and not the entire film. He shared that he didn’t plan the whole film with Shah Rukh Khan. “I didn’t plan the whole film with Shah Rukh Khan, but I did pitch the character to him long back. I told him 7-8 years ago, and even he liked it,” the filmmaker revealed.

The Sikandar director added, “Back then, I only had the character…just an idea, not the full script. After watching the movie, you’ll realise what I meant by character. At that time, cinematographer Ravi K Chandran arranged a meeting for me with Shah Rukh. He was so sweet and said we’ll do the film. But the delay was very long, which is why it never materialised.”

However, Murugadoss opened up about not being interested to work in Hindi after his 2008 movie Ghajini. Recently, he also shared his take on working with another superstar, Salman Khan, during the filming of Sikandar. During a conversation with Valaipechu Voice, he shared that it was not easy to shoot with a star and he turned up on the set only by 8 PM. The filmmaker was quoted saying, “It’s not easy to shoot with a star. Even day scenes, we have to shoot at night because he turns up on set only by 8 PM. We are used to shooting right from early mornings, but that’s not how things work there.”
