Ameesha Patel & Anil Sharma Reconcile? Director Confirms All Is Well As Gadar 3 Shoot To Start Soon

During the release of Gadar 2, a public disenchantment happened between Anil Sharma and Ameesha Patel. Ameesha had shared her disappointment, saying that she felt misled by the alteration of the film’s climax, as she had expected a more significant role in the movie starring Sunny Deol. In response to her statements, Anil Sharma, who described her as “moody,” mentioned in an interview that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, while also expressing that he still regards her as a member of his close circle.

In a recent conversation on X, Ameesha mentioned some “creative differences” and expressed her willingness to participate in Gadar 3, which will depend on her genuine enthusiasm for the script, similar to her experience with Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. During a podcast with Maniesh Paul, she also revealed that the climax of Gadar 2 was filmed without her, though she has chosen to move forward. She also hinted that her involvement in Gadar 3 would depend on the presence of appropriate paperwork and contractual agreements.

 In an interview with News18 Showsha, the director, Anil Sharma shared his thoughts, saying, “My equation with Ameesha is great now. Waqt ke saath saath sab cheezein sahi ho jaati hai. Abhi sab badhiya hai!” It has also been reported that another condition set by Ameesha Patel was that she would only agree to be in Gadar 3 if the love story of Tara and Sakeena played a significant role in the storyline. On being asked if she’ll be a part of it Anil said, “Sakeena and Tara are an integral part of Gadar. But we’ll discuss more about her character before the release of Gadar 3.”

It has also been revealed that the script for Gadar 3 has already been completed, suggesting that fans may not have to wait for long before the film’s release. Anil Sharma said, “Gadar 3 will definitely get made. We’ve already made a commitment to the audience in the last scene of Gadar 2 where Utkarsh’s (Sharma) character Jeete is told that he’s worthy of joining the army. We ended the film with the message – to be continued.”

Anil also shared some details regarding the start of the film’s principal photography, adding, “But making Gadar 3 will take some time but the audience can be assured that it won’t take another 20 years (laughs). We’re hoping to take it to the floors in the next two years. We’ve already worked on the script. It will focus on the stories of Tara and Jeete.” For those unaware, Gadar 2 was released 22 years after Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.

Gadar 2, which released in 2023, achieved huge success at the box office, becoming the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of the year, after Jawan, Pathaan, and Animal. Reflecting on the enthusiastic response from fans, Anil shared his thoughts, “Gadar 2 was released two years back. The advance booking was fantastic. On the evening of August 9, we sold about 20 lakh tickets. I think no other film has been able to create that kind of history of selling two million tickets two days before its release.”
