‘Love Island USA’ Season 7 Finishes as Peacock’s Biggest Original Series Ever
Love Island USA’s biggest season to date is now also the biggest season for any Peacock original in the streamer’s history.
Season seven of the series accounted for a huge 18.4 billion minutes of watch time — about 306.67 million hours — over its six-week run, according to internal data from NBCUniversal. Those numbers include viewing across all devices (TV sets, phones and other mobile gadgets) and therefore won’t necessarily match up to third-party data from Nielsen, whose streaming ratings only measure TV-set viewing.
That said, Love Island has performed exceedingly well in the Nielsen metrics as well. From June 2-29, the most recent date available, the show amassed 5.11 billion minutes (more than 85 million hours) of TV-screen viewing and grew in each of those four weeks. Peacock says season seven’s final week of July 7-13 finished No. 1 among all streaming titles in the Nielsen rankings, though precise figures won’t be available for another couple weeks.
Peacock’s first-party data says about 30 percent of the 18.4 billion minutes (or about 5.5 billion) for the season came via mobile devices, possibly reflecting the relative youth of its audience. More than 50 percent Love Island’s viewers were adults under 35, per Nielsen.

The surge for season seven was also fueled by newcomers to the Love Island franchise. According to Peacock, nearly half the audience (49 percent) for season seven were new viewers. A huge social media footprint likely helped there: On TikTok alone, the show’s official accounts and the #LoveIslandUSA hashtag accumulated 1.7 billion video views and impressions, while Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and X contributed 2.2 billion more impressions.
The momentum for Love Island also helped spinoff series Beyond the Villa, which according to Peacock had the largest premiere audience of any unscripted show on the platform (though again, precise figures weren’t available as of publication time).
