Ranbir Kapoor Is an Amazing Friend, Says Rashmika Mandanna Revealing Story of Animal Wrap-day Selfie

Having established herself in the South film industry, Rashmika Mandanna made her Bollywood debut in 2022. A year later, she made a big impact at the box office alongside her co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Triptii Dimri with the release of their film Animal. Although the film, which was directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, received criticism for its portrayal of violence and misogyny, the onscreen chemistry between Rashmika and Ranbir was well-received. In the film, they portrayed a couple deeply in love with two children, whose marriage began to fall apart towards the end. Off-screen, Rashmika and Ranbir developed a strong friendship. She also shared her thoughts on the matter.

During a recent interview, Rashmika Mandanna fondly recalled her iconic selfie with Ranbir Kapoor from their final day on the set of Animal. Rashmika was dressed in a simple blue kurta, while Ranbir Kapoor sported his long hair and a scruffy beard. Sharing her thoughts on the memory, Rashmika mentioned, “This was, again, on the last day of Animal shoot where I went and told RK that we definitely have to have a picture together because, we shoot the films, but generally I do not take pictures. But for memories it’s important and RK has always been super kind, super supportive and he’s definitely, definitely an amazing friend to have.”

After this, Rashmika and Ranbir Kapoor are supposed to work once more for the highly anticipated sequel to Animal, which will be called Animal Park. The filming is expected to start in 2026, and the director has already hinted to fans that the sequel will be “darker” and “meaner” than the original. Currently, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is occupied with his upcoming film, Spirit, which features Prabhas and Triptii Dimri in the leading roles. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, has Love & War and Ramayana among his upcoming projects. Meanwhile, Rashmika Mandanna will next appear in the Telugu film The Girlfriend, apart from her role in Thama alongside Ayushmann Khurrana.
