Box Office Report: Saiyaara Crosses The 150-Crore Mark in Just 6 Days

After making a smashing debut with a historic opening weekend, Saiyaara has managed to maintain its strong momentum at the box office well into the weekdays. The love story, which introduced fresh faces Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has quickly become one of the biggest hits of the year. Despite being led by newcomers, the film has surpassed many big budget movies in terms of earnings. Directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara did see a dip on its sixth day, Wednesday, but still managed to cross the impressive Rs 150 crore milestone.

Over the weekend, the film’s collection showed a solid upward trend. Saturday brought in Rs 25 crore, while Sunday saw a jump to Rs 35.75 crore. A drop on Monday was expected, but the movie still earned a strong Rs 24 crore. Tuesday saw a small rise with Rs 25 crore, likely due to discounted ticket rates in several theatres that brought in more footfall. On Wednesday, collections dropped slightly to Rs 21 crore, but this was anticipated given the boost on Tuesday. As of now, Saiyaara stands at a total of Rs 153.25 crore.

The film has even outperformed big names at the box office. For instance, Salman Khan’s Sikandar couldn’t reach the Rs 100 crore mark in its first four days, whereas Saiyaara crossed that benchmark with ease. In regions like Delhi and UP, the film created a stir on Tuesday, reportedly earning more than double of what Chhaava made. It is even poised to beat the first Tuesday collections of Pushpa 2, which highlights just how massive this response is. In fact, its Tuesday numbers rival those of post pandemic blockbusters like Jawan and Pathaan, which is a rare feat for any film, especially one starring newcomers.

What works in Saiyaara’s favor is the lack of any major release this coming Friday, which allows it to continue its dream run without much competition. With Son Of Sardaar 2now pushed to August 1, speculation is that its delay may have something to do with the overwhelming response Saiyaara is receiving. The Ajay Devgn and Mrunal Thakur starrer will now clash with Dhadak 2 on that date, giving Saiyaara another full week to rule the box office. For now, the film’s strong hold on the audience shows no signs of slowing down.
