After Kiara Advani, Vikrant Massey Exits Don 3 As Casting Shuffle Continues – Reports

In 2006, audiences were introduced to Shah Rukh Khan as Don for the very first time. His strong screen presence, crackling chemistry with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and the gripping story turned the film into a huge hit. Five years later, he returned with Don 2 and once again managed to win over fans and the box office. Naturally, when it was revealed that SRK would not be returning for the third part of the franchise, many fans were left disappointed. This time, Ranveer Singh will be taking the story forward with Farhan Akhtar directing Don 3. While there have been several rumours around the cast, as of now Ranveer is the only confirmed name, with two actors stepping away from the project.

 Earlier this year in March, it was reported that Kiara Advani, who was supposed to play Ranveer Singh’s leading lady, has opted out of the film due to her pregnancy. Kriti Sanon was reportedly being considered to step into the role, though nothing has been confirmed yet. There was also a lot of buzz around Priyanka Chopra Jonas possibly returning to the franchise. Meanwhile, a new update has revealed that Vikrant Massey, who was signed to play the villain opposite Ranveer, has also walked away from Don 3.

Insiders close to the development shared with a news portal that Vikrant’s decision to exit came from his dissatisfaction with the depth of the role. According to the report on the news portal Vikrant reportedly felt the character lacked substance and also required a physical transformation that he was not on board with. His departure has now left the makers looking for a new actor to take on the antagonist’s role in the film.

As per current buzz, Aditya Roy Kapur and Vijay Deverakonda are being considered to step in as the new villain. However, no official confirmation has come from the makers or the actors yet. Until then, fans can only wait for the final announcement. In the meantime, Vikrant Massey is receiving praise for his performance in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, which also marked Shanaya Kapoor’s debut. Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, recently wowed fans with his intense look in the teaser of Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar.
