Box Office Update: Metro…In Dino Earns Over Rs 15 Crore in 3 Days

Anurag Basu’s Metro… In Dino seems to be striking the right chord with audiences. The film, which hit theatres on July 4, brings together a talented ensemble including Sara Ali Khan, Aditya Roy Kapur, Neena Gupta, Anupam Kher, Konkona Sen Sharma, Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and more. Over its opening weekend, the film pulled in a solid Rs. 16.75 crore, with day 3 alone raking in Rs. 7.25 crore, showing a steady upward trend.

It started off decently with Rs. 3.5 crore on its first day, but Saturday brought a sharp boost in numbers, climbing to Rs. 6 crores, that’s over 70 percent growth in just one day. By Sunday, the buzz had picked up even more, with people flocking to theatres across the day. While morning shows were quieter, afternoon and evening slots were almost packed, with footfalls hitting over 57 percent by the evening.

Metro… In Dino carries forward the soul of Anurag Basu’s 2007 film Life In A Metro, and it’s already doing much better than its predecessor in terms of collections. Back then, the original had wrapped up its opening weekend at just Rs. 3.48 crore , a number the sequel has comfortably passed. In fact, Basu recently shared that it was the late Irrfan Khan who planted the seed for this sequel, making it all the more special.
