Ramayana 1st glimpse today: Cast, budget, when and where to watch the epic promo
The timeless epic ‘Ramayana’ is making its way back to the big screen in a grand new avatar, helmed by acclaimed director Nitesh Tiwari. The much-awaited title glimpse of this ambitious mythological adaptation will be unveiled today, July 3 at 11:30 am. In a unique move, the launch will take place simultaneously across nine major Indian cities, offering fans a nationwide cinematic moment.
TITLE GLIMPSE TO RELEASE ACROSS 9 CITIES
Fronted by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, the film promises a powerful retelling of the ancient saga, aimed at both Indian and global audiences. The unveiling event will be held in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Kochi, and Bengaluru, with Hyderabad’s iconic Prasads Multiplex also joining the list.
However, the event (in Mumbai/Delhi) is unlikely to be attended by most of the cast. Ranbir Kapoor is currently in London with his wife Alia Bhatt and mother Neetu Kapoor, while Yash and his wife Radhika are also vacationing abroad.
While the official title glimpse is set to be unveiled later today, a select few have already been treated to an exclusive preview, including trade analyst Taran Adarsh. He shared his first impressions of the highly anticipated epic on his X handle.

In another post, Adarsh shared more details about the footage. “For those asking – yes, the first glimpse of #Ramayana is 3 minutes long and will be unveiled tomorrow [3 July 2025]. The 7-minute vision showreel is a separate video unit that offers insight into the planning and execution of this monumental project… This unit will be unveiled only closer to its theatrical release in #Diwali 2026. Also, the filming of the first part of #Ramayana is complete, while the shoot for the second part begins this August (sic),” he added.

THE CAST, CREW, RELEASE DETAILS
The first poster of ‘Ramayana’ was unveiled by Namit Malhotra, Founder and Global CEO of Prime Focus Studios, also one of the producers of the magnum opus, revealing that the movie will be released in two parts in November 2024.

‘Ramayana’, made on a grand scale, has surpassed the production cost of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ (Rs 600 crore), ‘RRR’ and ‘Adipurush’ (both Rs 550 crore), as reported by Hindustan Times. The film’s estimated budget is approximately Rs 835 crore.
Adding to the star power, Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman, while Sunny Deol steps into the role of Hanuman. The cast also includes Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. The star-studded film is set to release in two parts during Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027.

The team of ‘Ramayana’ recently wrapped up filming, and an emotional video of lead actor Ranbir Kapoor has now surfaced online. In the clip, Ranbir is seen expressing heartfelt gratitude to the entire cast and crew of the film.
Calling it the most significant role of his career, Ranbir thanked the team for their dedication and support throughout the journey. He also acknowledged his co-stars – Sai Pallavi, Yash, Ravi Dubey, and others – who are part of this ambitious project.
